Why You Need To Write Your Novel
- By: George Hutton
You've read many novels. Some great one's, some not so great. You love the feeling you get when you lose yourself in a good book, with characters that you can believe in and root for. But you are not like most people. You are not content to put down a novel when you are finished, and look for the next one to read. You are one of those people, that when you finish, you think to yourself:
"I could do that."
You know that this is true. Because you are reading this, you can think of many ways that prove this. Not only is this true, but it is inevitable when you realize just what you need to discover about yourself which you allow you to share your truth with others.
That truth may be something wonderful, it may be something shocking and visceral, or it may be altogether insightful and inspiring. The results are entirely up to you.
Perhaps you've had that thought in the back of your head for some time. Perhaps you have a well thought out idea of a story and characters, and all you need to do is get it down on paper. Perhaps you've already passed the monumental step (and one that holds most people back) of actually starting to write.
Wherever you are on your journey to eventual success a novelist, one thing is certain: Writing every day will drastically improve your confidence, your self esteem, both of which are tremendously important in getting that first publishing contract.
When you write down your thoughts every day, regardless whether or not they are towards your goal of a novel, you are giving yourself a powerful message.
Not only are your thoughts important enough to be transformed from vague ideas and feelings into concrete words and sentences and paragraphs, created specifically to create those same feelings and emotions in others, but they are also meant to be read by thousands, if not millions of others.
There is a very powerful, and very deep feeling of confidence and self-belief that comes after making it a habit of writing every day, for a least a few hundred words. It doesn't matter if what you write is worthy of a Novel Prize. What matters it that you consistently write. Every day. Not only will your appreciation of your own work increase, but your actual writing skills will dramatically improve as well.
After all, you are a writer. Your job is to write.
The world is always yearning to read uplifting and inspiring novels. Make the next one be yours.
Taking the first step is sometimes the hardest for some. Because you can
imagine what it will be like when you become successful, you can take advantage
of this opportunity. You'll find out just how easy that is when you visit
